In Aligarh, a city located in Uttar Pradesh, a serious incident involving a Muslim man named Rashid occurred when his scooter was involved in a collision with another two-wheeler. Following this unfortunate accident, a group of people quickly gathered around the scene. Instead of offering assistance, the mob began shouting aggressive phrases, including “kill this bearded man,” targeting Rashid due to his religious appearance. The situation escalated rapidly, as the mob turned violent, attacking him without considering the circumstances of the crash.
During this chaotic episode, Rashid not only faced physical threats but also lost his belongings. The assailants robbed him of his mobile phone, which likely contained personal information and essential contacts. Additionally, they took away Rs 2,000, a sum of money that could be significant for Rashid’s daily needs. This incident highlights the dangers that can arise from sudden public confrontations, where fear and mob mentality can lead to severe consequences for individuals, especially those from vulnerable communities.
