Vegitables at fair price visited by the BDO, Riajul Hoque, Uluberia-I block.
Special Correspondent, uluberia:
The Sufal Bangla scheme is an initiative by the government of West Bengal aimed at improving the agricultural supply chain and ensuring fair prices for both farmers and consumers. Here are some key aspects of the Sufal Bangla scheme:
Direct Marketing: The scheme facilitates the direct marketing of agricultural produce from farmers to consumers, bypassing middlemen. This helps farmers get better prices and ensures fresh produce for consumers.
Fair Pricing: It aims to provide fair prices to farmers for their produce while keeping prices reasonable for consumers.
Retail Outlets: Sufal Bangla operates through a network of retail outlets and mobile vans that sell fresh fruits, vegetables, and other agricultural products.
Infrastructure Development: The scheme includes the development of infrastructure such as collection centers, cold storage facilities, and processing units to reduce post-harvest losses and maintain the quality of produce.
Employment Generation: By enhancing the agricultural supply chain and creating retail outlets, the scheme also generates employment opportunities in the state. Consumer Awareness: It promotes awareness among consumers about the benefits of purchasing fresh and locally produced agricultural products. Overall, the Sufal Bangla scheme aims to create a more efficient and fair agricultural market system in West Bengal, benefiting both farmers and consumers.
Fair-priced vegetables are being sold in the Uluberia-I Block Office Compound. Buyers’ enthusiasm was good on the first day, Wednesday. The members of the Hatagacha-I Mahila Sabuj Samavaya Samity of the block were sitting with different kinds of vegetables.
BDO H. M. Riajul Hoque said, “As long as there is demand from buyers, this market will continue.” The fair price market in front of the block office, adjacent to Uluberia station, was thronged with commuters and people.
