A program, “Ghaat Par Haat” held by BDO, Riajul Hoque

Special program on the slogan of clean Ganga by Riajul Haque, BDO.

A special program is organised by BDO, Riajul Haque, to keep the Ganga clean and purified for the sake of anti pollution. the program is named Ghat par haat means market on the Ghat was successfully held on the ghaat of the east Kali Nagar Ganga of Uluberia under the Howrah district on Friday with the help of Uluberia-1 block administration team and Howrah zilla Ganga committee under the scheme named National mission for clean Ganga. In the market, there are various food stalls, self help groups hand crafted tools and accessories stalls also be held.

BDO, Riajul Hoque, Uluberia -1 block office,said that they just deliver the messages to the people of the river bank area and near bank area to keep the Ganga clean and make the Ganga anti-pollution. He also said that throughout the area there are two rivers flowing named Damodar and Hoogly. But the river Damodar became so polluted due to huge disposal of plastic waste along with dirty garbage. On the day, a pledge was made between the block administration team along with the district officials and the people of the river area and near bank area to keep the Ganga pollution free. Apart from BDO, Riajul Hoque, joint BDO Lipika Roy, district officer Ujjwal Kumar Biswas, representative of Uluberia-I Panchayat samiti president Atindra Shekhar Pramanik, Panchayat samiti karmadhakya Ajijul Islam Mollah, panchayat Pradhan Shaikh Derasad Hossain and other persons were presented in the program of the day.
