peace and surrender
-Abdallah Gasmi Tunisia
It seems that there is a battle of terminology and concepts from which many terms and concepts have not been spared, especially those human life concepts that are urgently needed at this delicate stage in human history, and the changes it brings at all political, military, economic, social, educational levels…etc. One of these misunderstood concepts is the concept of peace, which is considered one of the highest meanings that humanity has sought and seeks throughout its journey and history.
Since peace is the basis by which people coexist in their lives and their affairs are settled, all religions have carried the meaning of peace and its foundation to the earth. In the Gospel of Matthew: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the sons of God.” Islam has taught us that peace is one of the names of God. The best things that He commanded us to call upon Him. The Almighty says: “And to God belong the most beautiful names, so call upon Him by them.” And He also commanded us to enumerate them in knowledge, contemplation, character, and deeds. The Prophet Muhammad – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – says: “Indeed, God has ninety-nine names of He who has measured it will enter Paradise,” and it has been described Our Lord Almighty is the paradise that the righteous promised that it is the abode of peace.
The peace sought in this world naturally contradicts wars and attacks in all their forms, and even contradicts the hatred, resentment, and hatred that some hearts carry. Therefore, God made peace one of His obligations upon His faithful creation, so He bestowed it upon them and called upon them to achieve it.
Even in political and military customs, it is said that the purpose of war is to bring about peace. When the arrogant party is broken by war and despairs of victory, it sees no alternative to peace. It then accepts a truce and resorts to negotiation, which often leads to peace, after it had previously refused to negotiate and peace and adhered to the logic of peace. Power and arrogance, and the history of humanity and the wars it has witnessed, ancient and modern, bear witness to this. There is no war without peace at its end, or peace ending it, no matter how long it takes.
War was not the goal of humanity. Man was not created for the sake of war and hostility. Rather, he was created for the purpose of rebuilding the universe, developing the earth, and getting to know his fellow man in the East and West. There is no doubt that this requires peace. If the stubborn people insist on provoking war and do not think about the catastrophic consequences of that, So what is the way to repel them except by repelling their aggression, breaking their power, and trimming their nails?! At that time, war is not intended for its own sake, but rather to achieve peace and security leading to the reconstruction of the universe, the development of the earth, and the acquaintance of people.
Despite this, we find a shameful confusion among many people between peace and surrender, and the difference between them is very great. Peace can only be achieved through strength, while surrender is subservience, submission, humiliation, and defeat that does not befit any human being with dignity. A brave, strong person is proud of himself and proud of belonging to humanity. He does not accept humiliation and humiliation. There is no contradiction at all between these meanings and peace, for peace is with a peaceful person, and oppression is with an enemy who is a warrior. God Almighty says: “So whoever attacks you, attack him in the same way as he attacked you, and fear God.”
Therefore, exaggerating in accepting the arrogance of the arrogant, claiming that we are a nation of peace, is the same as surrender, defeat, and brokenness that is reprehensible by custom and belief, and this state is not appropriate for the state of pride and dignity.
Thus, the peace that the West wants from the Palestinians is not peace but surrender. They want to allow the occupying entity to abandon the people, desecrate sacred things, kill children, and demolish churches and mosques, and the Palestinians do not have the right to defend their entity and their lives. They must surrender to the occupying power, but if they defend On their people, their identity, and their land. In the West’s view, they are enemies of peace. They are terrorists and murderers.
In return, the occupying usurper is allowed to kill thousands, displace millions, and desecrate the sanctities in order to achieve the peace of killing. Therefore, what the West is asking of the Palestinians is surrender, not peace, with the aim of exterminating them.
Therefore, we are really in a war between the enemies of peace and the supporters of peace. The enemies of peace are the murderers and those who stand behind them from a Western country, while the supporters of peace are the Palestinian resistance that defends its people for the sake of peace, in order to stop the killing and displacement.
